Program Goals:
- To foster appreciation and
respect for Chinese culture.
- To provide an introduction in
Chinese language study.
- To develop positive attitudes
toward Chinese language learning.
- To develop beginning level of
Chinese listening, speaking, and communication skills.
- To build a foundation and
confidence in long term Chinese study.
Language Goals:
- Acquire basic pinyin and five
tones (Chinese phonics) knowledge.
- Identify important Chinese
character components.
- Use
basic sentence patterns in daily life conversations.
- Follow
teacher’s instruction and respond accordingly in Chinese.
- Develop commonly used Chinese vocabulary skill.
