The beginning level courses builds basic communicative language
competency. From daily greetings to personal small talks, the curriculum
combines the instruction of four language skills with abundant oral
practices and integrates with cultural enrichment. Guided by the
experienced Chinese teachers, the instruction of pronunciation (pinyin),
grammar structure and discourse will be implemented by different forms
to fit the needs of most learners. Class blog and internet links are
accessible for individual study. No prerequisite is required for this
course.
The Intermediate level will expand the student’s knowledge of
grammatical structures, vocabulary, and practice more complicated
conversation patterns.
The Advanced level will expand vocabulary, sentences structures as well
as develop one’s ability to advance reading and to be fluent in oral
expression and writing.
Chinese conversation class is designed for students who want to learn
some Chinese in order to improved their ability to communicate with in
the Chinese speaking environments.

Language classes require 5 students to maintain/open.
Classes may be cancelled otherwise after 3 weeks.

Tuition must be paid before entering the class. Once
the first class start, the tuition is not refundable.

New students with previous Chinese knowledge but not
sure which class level in our school system, can contact school

- Class
attendance will be taken. Unless the student attends at least
half of the semester schedule, the instructor will not recommend
promotion of that student to the next level.
- The instructor
may not do a make-up class for individual absence unless private
arrangements are agreed by both the student and the instructor.
- If a class is
cancelled due to an emergency arising from the instructor, the
school, or the weather, a make-up class will be scheduled.
Voice recording is
encouraged, but video shooting or any image taping need school
permission.
Experienced, recognized instructors who have taught in college
and at the Center have lead seminars at client facilities or the CCC
since 1989. The Center has provided seminars at corporations
and universities since 1999. Programs can be tailored to suit
company needs and may also include Chinatown tours of temples, shops
and restaurants; use of the Pinyin software lab; and other
entertaining, educational, and business savvy experiences.

Chinese Language Seminars
The corporate language seminar includes accurate Chinese
pronunciation through Pinyin system (simplified); conducting simple
daily conversations in Chinese; conducting functional activities in
Chinese, such as money changing and transportation; and reading
basic signs in Chinese. Advanced classes are also available.
Corporate seminars can be presented in a 90-day period to prepare
employees for travels to China and Taiwan.
Major objectives of Culture & Customs seminars include:
- Understanding cultural concepts of families, gender and
education
- Understanding historical and geography of expatriate site
- Knowing about cross-cultural stress/shock
- Discussing cross-cultural issues in the workplace
- Finding the importance of intercultural communication
Additional instruction:
- Soliciting information from others about work products and
situations
- How to ask for assistance from hotel employees, taxi drivers,
restaurant reservationists and shopkeepers
