The Equipped for the Future program is designed to achieve success in the Parent role.
The Parent Role Project is a component of Equipped for the Future that focuses on the well-being of the family relationship: improving parent-child bonds, which translates into better performance on the job and overall quality of life.
Parents participate in a parent/child reading program. Audiotapes and a children’s book center, along with assistance from coaches from the Houston Read Commission and Alief ISD, serve as resources that everyone will use. In addition, financial literacy workshops for adults and children improve awareness on various topics like buying a home, budgeting, and family financial decision-making.
