Program Information
The Computer and Clerical Skills Training program is a 3½ month
long program. Class hours are from Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to
5:00 pm. This program is open to anyone who is interested in
employment in the field of computer technology. Full scholarships
are sometimes available for low income families, and are determined
on individual basis. Scholarships are on a first-come first-serve
basis. Not everyone who applies for the scholarship will be awarded.
Students who do not qualify for scholarship can still attend classes
at a nominal fee. Job Placement assistance is available for students
who successfully complete the training.
The majority of the applicants are minorities such as Asians,
African Americans and Hispanics. The participants come to us with
limited knowledge in the following areas: computer skills, English
language skills, career development/enhancement, and cultural
transition skills. Our program is designed to assist in locating
competitive employment and improve the quality of lives for our
graduates.
In addition to the job-related skills training, students will
learn job search skills. These lessons culminate at the end of the
training in a partnered effort to place graduates in fulltime
positions. Sample positions for our graduates are: CPA firms,
banking officers, real estate office manager, computer technicians
and many others. |
