Child Development Center
To provide an optimal learn environment for children to grow and reach their full potential. By meeting social/emotional needs, we can encourage children to become independent learners and thinkers that prepare them for school and beyond.

The Child Development Center offers a welcoming learning environment for children and families. Our program became a NAEYC Accredited program on November 5, 2010.  NAEYC is the National Association for the Education of Young and they are known as the "Mark of Quality” in early childhood programs. Our center is also a United Way Bright Beginnings program. This program supports our mission of supporting family needs by consulting with the center on an ongoing basis, providing staff training, incentives to teachers continuing their education and equipment.

With the achievement of Accreditation our program is required to meet all 10 standards, which incorporate having an educated, bi-lingual teaching staff that continues their professional development by attaining a CDA, Associates, Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in education. Also by meeting these standards means we have low teacher/child ratios, small group sizes, research based curriculum, and a developmentally appropriate environment.

Tours of the program are offered to interested parents on an appointment basis and registration is done-on-site at the Chinese Community Center.

For more information about this program, please contact the Director Ms. Toni Livingston at 713.271.6100 ext 220 or 222

HOURS OF OPERATION
Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Serving children 12 months – 5 years old
We serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks that meet USDA guidelines at no cost to families through the CACFP program.
OUR PROGRAMS:

Toddler : 18 months – 3 years old
In the toddler environment you will hear the warm nurturing voices of our teachers greeting our toddlers. You will see toddlers exploring art, observing nature, singing a song, sharing a smile with a friend, and practicing fine motor skills through soft block play. For our toddlers, the environment is a place to explore, learn and experience in their everyday experiences.

Preschool : 3 – 5 years old
In the preschool classroom we use creative Curriculum and Scholastics. By using the fundamental concepts of creative curriculum, teachers are able to use approaches based on early childhood theories that support the child’s learning. In our classrooms the environment is set up in various learning centers where children learn positive social interactions, fine motor skills, math concepts, and much more!
