Founded in 1979, the
Chinese
Community Center began as a Chinese language school to assist new immigrants arriving in
America. As the City grew, so did the Center, and today we provide services and programs to over 10,000 multi-cultural families each year through childcare, youth after-school and summer camp programs, adult education and job training, senior services, and community programs.
The Center now serves the very young through the quality childcare, after school tutorials, summer camp, Chinese Language School, and leadership activities; adults through ESL, job training, and computer classes, and home ownership education; and senior adults with caregiver training, an Adult Day Program, and an employment program.
A United Way agency and a recognized leader in welcoming newcomers to
America, the Center promotes cultural understanding and serves as a resource center for Asian-Americans and the Greater Houston community at-large.
Through enhancing the quality of life for all Houstonians, we have gradually become a community center, a home, for everyone.
