After School Program
To enhance the lives of young people and cultivate greater cultural understanding
Goals
Assist new immigrant youths in their transition into the community through tutoring, English enrichment, and other beneficial social group activities.
Provide students from low and moderate income families with quality after-school education and mentor guidance to improve academic performance.
Cultivate character and positive self-image through cultural programs, healthy social interaction, and encouragement.
Nurture parent-child relationships by presenting conferences, counseling, and parenting skills seminars.
This unique and culturally-relevant program serves young people ages 5 to 18 by offering:
Academic tutoring
Structured enrichment activities
Self-paced computer-aided learning
Sports and group activities
Scouting Fridays
Individual and group counseling
Acculturation workshops for new immigrant youth
Leadership development (student government organization)
TAAS preparation and English Enrichment Classes
Financial Literacy
Teachers, tutors, and volunteers assist children on a daily basis with school homework and other questions. The program identifies the student's weak subjects and helps in those courses. Classes are held one teacher to 10-15 students.
Schedule
Registration begins one month before the start of each school semester.
